A letter from
              Pastor Andy

There's a place for you here.

Perhaps you came to this webpage contemplating making changes to enliven and fulfill your personal and spiritual lives. Let me formally invite you to check out our community of faith, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. We're a moderate and steadily growing congregation that has been around since 1972 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, or ELCA (

If you've never stepped foot in a church or it's been a while; if you're skeptical, curious, doubtful, agnostic, or a lifelong Lutheran... You are welcome here! We would be honored and pleased to greet and meet you. You have a unique story that can only add to the richness of our community of faith.

Worship With Us

For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith. Through God's word, water, bread, wine and prayer we are nurtured in faith and sent out into the world. We gather every Sunday at 9:30am to worship together.

Our Sunday Worship service is a little different each week, while following the structure of the liturgy. Some weeks we worship using more traditional
music and other weeks we worship with more contemporary music.

At SVLC we want to create sacred space for families and children to explore God’s message of love and grace together, so we believe that parents and children need time together in church. We begin worship with families together and we love the noise and energy children bring! After the Gathering music and prayer, we have a Children's Chat at our Prayground for our younger members. Then they can go to Kids Club for an activity based on the same lessons as will be read in worship; they can stay at the Prayground for coloring or building; or they can return to sit with their families. Kids Club participants return to worship in time for Holy Communion.

Parents may take their children to the Lobby or the Nursery. There is generally a high school student in the nursery or parents may stay with their child for a few minutes until they are ready to return to worship.
